About NSS

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a flagship youth development programme of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. Launched in 1969 with the motto “Not Me But You,” NSS aims to develop the personality and character of students through community service, social responsibility, and nation-building activities.

The NSS provides students with opportunities to participate in various social welfare and community development programmes such as health awareness campaigns, cleanliness drives, environmental protection, literacy programmes, blood donation camps, disaster management activities, rural development initiatives, and awareness programmes on social issues.

At C. M. Science College, Darbhanga, the NSS unit actively engages students in community-oriented activities that promote leadership, discipline, teamwork, and social commitment. The unit regularly organizes special camps, plantation drives, Swachh Bharat activities, health and hygiene awareness programmes, road safety campaigns, and social outreach initiatives in nearby communities and villages.
